Tier 1: Investors

This category applies to high-net worth clients who wish to make substantial investments in the UK and who wish to secure indefinite leave to remain in the UK. In order to be eligible to apply for a Tier 1 (Investor) visa, an individual must have a minimum of £2m to invest in the UK and comply with other specific requirements such as the source of the funds and the types of investments.

Tier 1: Entrepreneurs

The Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa applies to non-EEA nationals wishing to establish a business in, the UK. As an Entrepreneur, an individual must be able to meet the Home Office requirements, which include showing that they have access to no less than £200,000 or £50,000 (depending on the criteria), that the funds are held correctly and are disposable in the UK. The applicant must also show that they are a genuine entrepreneur, can speak English to the required minimum standard and that they have enough money to support themselves and any dependants whilst in the UK.

Tier 4: Student visa

This points based visa application allows individuals from overseas to undertake studies at a Home Office licensed education provider or institution.

Family Members of British Nationals and Settled Persons

This is a visa application to enter or remain in the UK as a family member of a British national or settled person such as fiancé, fiancée, spouse, civil partner, unmarried partner, elderly and other dependent relative.

Dependant family members of Points Based System Migrants

An application for family members of migrants under the Points Based System to enter and remain in the UK.

Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)

An application for settlement in the UK, also known as permanent residency.

EEA Family Permits

A non-EEA national’s right to enter the UK as the family member of an EEA national.

EEA Residence Cards

A non-EEA national’s continued right of residence in the UK as the family member of an EEA national.

Naturalisation

Individuals can apply for British citizenship by naturalisation if they have lived in the UK for at least 5 years and have been granted indefinite leave to stay in the UK (and have had indefinite leave to stay in the UK for the last 12 months) or if they are married to, or the civil partner of, a British citizen and have lived in the UK for at least the 3 years before the application is received.

Registration of Adults and Minors as British Citizens

Registering as a British citizen is usually simpler than becoming naturalised. Individuals may be eligible if they:

  • Have another form of British nationality
  • Were born before 1 January 1983 to a British mother
  • Were born in the UK on or after 1 January 1983
  • Are under 18 and don’t fit into the other categories
  • Have a connection with Gibraltar or Hong Kong
  • Are stateless
